We are an experienced team professionals who have compassion for patients with mental health illnesses including substance abuse disorders. The stigma surrounding addiction and mental health illness is due to prejudice and a lack of education. However, we understand the etiology of these diseases. We know that many diseases have biological, psychological and social components. Therefore, mental health and addiction is not the "fault" of the patient and/or his or her family. Mental health illness, which include substance use disorders, have a defined set of symptoms and criteria that make it possible to diagnose and treat. However, each person has his or her own history and must be treated as an individual.
